What to expect

You will learn techniques and tools from the latest in behavioral change research and apply them to an individualized health goal.

Previous clients have tapped into an inner wisdom leading to confidence and motivation.  Taking the time to pause, reflect and talk about what brings meaning and apply strengths empowered them to make change. 

There is power in group wisdom as we share insights and ideas.  Our horticultural inspired activities are designed to tap into your intuition as well as add some fun and creativity to our gatherings.

Fun and Creative

Open Sesame values fun and creativity! All sessions will incorporate a nature based activity, adding a kinetic and creative outlet for our exploration. Prior to the group, you will receive a package of supplies which will be used during our sessions.

Behavioral Change Science

You will learn the latest in evidence based behavioral change science.  Each week we will learn how to apply a method for lasting change.

Compassion and Non-Judgement

Compassion and non-judgement for each other as well as for ourselves is a cornerstone.

Agenda

Throughout the program, you will work on an overarching goal that is specific to your life. As a group, we will learn tools and best practices in behavior change science that can be applied towards that personalized goal. 

  • Week 1: Envision the Ideal.  In this fun session, you will explore values and where you find meaning to create a vision of your ideal self or health goal.
  • Week 2: Bridge the Gap: Current to Ideal. This is an exciting week where we will explore the Stages of Change and learn tools to help keep you on track to your healthiest self.
  • Week 3: Learn and Adjust. We explore why it’s important to savor successes (neuroplasticity), how to apply strengths to overcome obstacles or develop approaches to achieve goals.  Mindful, non-judgmental awareness (formal and informal) is explored. 
  • Week 4: Lasting Change.  This week we celebrate successes and talk about behavior change strategies to keep the change going!
